Why are Mexican Elotes (street-corn) so magical?
Ok... It's Corn on the cob, what's the BIG DEAL??? That's where you are dead wrong friend....
What is Elote? The world “elote” means “corn cob” in Spanish, and Mexican Elote is grilled corn on the cob slathered in a mayo based sauce, and garnished with chili powder, cheese and lime. Elotes (and esquites) are commonly sold from street carts in Mexico as hot dogs are in Manhattan.
At Madrina Vegana we take the popular Elote to another level. You may say... "But isn't corn already vegan?" Our Elote is cooked and prepped Vegan style... No grilling on a grill that has touched meat; we use vegan cheeses; and the mayo based sauce we use us vegan based as well.
Vegan Elote tastes just as good or even better than regular Elote! Don't believe it? Try it! Join me at our next events and stay tuned for the Madrina Vegana food truck!!!
